was once the largest mental hospital in the world, at Rainhill, Merseyside shortly before its closure in 1985

In Spring 2000, as part of the Cheshire Millennium celebrations, the pupils of Hoole All Saints School, Chester voted for their favourite local adults (excluding (unfortunately) parents and teachers)- the Heroes of Hoole project and I was commissioned to produce a series of portraits of the lucky winners, which you can see here..
